I'm Joanna, your GetLow instructor. I wanted to bring a fun, upbeat, low intensity workout to Highton after I started reading about all the benefits of staying active and moving to music as we age. For instance, older adults who danced 3-4 times a week had a 76% lower risk of dementia*! How incredible is that! Feel free to grab me after a class and I can talk your ear off about the research and why I love GetLow classes.
Being a mum of two gorgeous daughters I also love the fact that this class is great for those pre/post natal. It's low impact so easy on the joints and there's no high intensity moves like burpees or jumping. Moving to music is my happy place and I'd have loved to do a class like this rather than the traditional natal classes.
My classes are a fun, welcoming environment, no one cares what you're wearing, if you're off beat or doing a completely different move! As long as you're moving and happy, so am I.
Oh and don't worry, you need absolutely no experience to do this class, the moves are simple and repetitive so you'll pick them up, and as I said, no one will care if you don't.
